10 Items Into 10 Outfits | How to Pack Light for Vacation

Packing light used to be one of the hardest things for me to do. I would always tell myself that I COULD need an extra top or that I should bring a jacket JUST IN CASE. In retrospect I ended up wearing less than half the things that I actually packed. If you're going to pack light you need to be ready to part ways with your clothes for the better.

The best tip that I can tell you right now is to figure out how long your vacation will be and then plan accordingly on how many items to bring. Today, I'm going to show you how to make 10 outfits out of 10 items in order to pack light for your vacation, so you can be stress free.

Here are the 10 versatile items that I chose from my closet:

  1. My item was originally thrifted, but I found a similar top from American Eagle Outfitters and linked it for you guys (it also comes in black): AE Off-The-Shoulder Smocked T-Shirt

  2. Slub Knit Tube Bodysuit (Also comes in white)

  3. I made my gingham top myself with some fabric from Joann Fabrics, but I linked a similar top from Lulus if you don't want to go through all that hassle like I did: Cute to Boot Black Gingham Tube Top

  4. My item was originally thrifted and then I cropped it myself, but I linked a similar top from Amazon (comes in two other patterns, as well): ECOWISH Womens V Neck Leopard Casual Print Tunic Long Sleeve Button Down Shirt Tops

  5. Kelly and Katie Tinley Sandal (It also comes in orange, black, mauve, and snake skin)

  6. White Slip-On Vans (this comes in SO many different colors, so definitely check out their website)

Now, let's get into the different outfits that I put together from these items. First up, I decided to go for a classic all black look, which is perfect for a fun summer night. These shoes are comfortable to walk in because of the low 2 inch heel. You might think that the jeans would be too hot for the summer, but the tube top balances it out perfectly in my opinion. To look more put together I recommend rolling the bottom of the jeans for a clean look.

Outfit #1

Next up, I paired high waisted Shein shorts with a snake skin print crop top. To tie the whole look together, I thought the sandals would look best to give it more of a summer vibe. In addition, I think this would look great paired with layered gold necklaces. The snake skin top that I'm wearing in the picture is from the thrift store and I did a little DIY and cropped it myself. I linked a similar top to this one that I found on Amazon. The top from Amazon had pretty good reviews and a good rating. The top is not already cropped, so you would have to do a small DIY or leave it how it is depending on how you want it to fit.

Outfit #2

The third outfit I came up with is by far the easiest one to put together, a ROMPER. I love rompers because as soon as you throw it on you instantly look more put-together. The vertical stripes on the romper (from American Eagle Outfitters) gives the allusion that you're taller. However, if you are not a fan of rompers I recommend a dress because it gives you the same simplicity when it comes to putting the look together.

Outfit #3

Next up is gingham. This is one of my favorite patterns for the summer time. I threw on black mom jeans and white sandals that I got from DSW. I actually did a another DIY and I made this top with some fabric I bought from Joann Fabrics. I did link a similar top that I found above, so that you guys can still get a similar look like mine.

Outfit #4

Later, I used the same gingham top and paired it with shorts and vans for a another casual look. I also think this would look great with black vans as well, if you don't have white ones. I recommend these white slip-on vans over the lace up ones just because they're so much easier to put on. If you're a lazy girl in the summer this outfit is perfect for you!

Outfit #5

This is one of the more basic outfits of the bunch, so I recommend bringing some accessories on your vacation. You could add jewelry or even a hat to this outfit to make it look more complete and spice it up.

Outfit #6

I got this white smocked shirt from the thrift store. It was a great find! I did find a similar top from AEO for you guys in case you want to check it out above. The sleeves are different, but it still has a similar overall look. The AEO top also comes in black, as well.

Outfit #7

This is one of my favorite looks from the bunch, just because I think that the cropped snake skin top compliments the high waisted black mom jeans so well. If I were to add accessories to this look I would add a belt to tie it all together. If you want to you can cuff the snake skin top to match the cuffed black mom jeans.

Outfit #8

This outfit is cute and simple with a flare. I think the top balances out the shorts nicely. Plus, the white-on-white from the top and shoes looks great and kinda reminds me of a beach vibe. I don't know if that makes any sense, but I love this fit. You could also substitute the denim shorts out for a a denim skirt if you want to make it more girly.

Outfit #9

Last but not least, outfit number 10. Honestly, I was really proud of myself for this one because I was running out of ideas. I figured out a way to tuck the top part of the romper into the shorts. This wasn't difficult at all because the romper was a V neck. If your romper isn't a V neck this look might not end up the same way. I then tied the bow of the romper that initially used to be in the back to the front. Sometimes you have to get crafty with fashion, so that it suits your needs or just for fun!

I hope that you found the outfits and items helpful for when you are packing on your summer vacation. If you have any tips for packing light on vacation, go ahead and share them by leaving a comment on this blog post. Also, leave a comment and say which outfit was your favorite, overall! I hope you have a blessed day!

Lots of Love,

M
